It was a revolutionary concept when first launched last year, at a time when EDM in America appeared to be music's next frontier. Ahead of its time then, Identity Festival, North America's first and only touring electronic music fest, will be making its return at a time when dance music has never been more popular, with a talent pool fit for almost every palette in dance music. Notably, the endeavor will see one of the genre's more sought-after and elusive stars making a highly anticipated return to performing in North America.
On Tuesday (April 24), Identity Festival announced that Paul van Dyk, Wolfgang Gartner, Nero, Madeon, Hardwell, Excision, Porter Robinson, Showtek, Arty, Noisia and Bingo Players will be among the artists playing amphitheaters across the U.S. in July and August. The tour will make stops in Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, San Diego, New Jersey, New York and more.
Notably, ID Fest will see the return of legendary Swedish producer Eric Prydz to our shores; because of a fear of flying, he hasn't been Stateside in a big way since 2007. As you may have heard Swedish House Mafia's Sebastian Ingrosso reminding everyone recently on his Refune Radio podcast, Prydz has a new album on the way. With Eric Prydz Presents Pryda set for a May 22 release, the opportunity to play his new tunes for American fans was apparently one he could not pass up.
"I'm really happy to announce that I'll be back in the U.S. this summer as part of the Identity Tour," Prydz revealed exclusively to MTV News. "We'll be hitting 15 iconic venues around the country. It's going to be absolutely crazy, and I can't wait to see you guys again.
So I'll see you guys at the Identity Tour!"
