How Do You Live Your Best Life After Retirement? - BestWongel.com

How Do You Live Your Best Life After Retirement?BestWongel.com

In retirement, ignore the predictors of doom and gloom

There are dire warnings and overtones of fear included in almost every message delivered to the over 50s?. These predictions cover things like

the possibility of developing osteoporosis due to a lack of calcium
not having sufficient money to fund your retirement years
the possibility of growing old and alone in your own home without family and community support
the fear you will leave insufficient funds for your family to give you a ?decent? funeral.

Oh dear! Does the burden of responsibility never shift from our shoulders?

Sure, health, financial security and family support are all important issues for us, but should we let these concerns deter us from living a full and exciting life for as long as we possibly can?

Live long and prosper. A positive mindset will help you to establish your priorities

As well as giving you the correct greeting for any Star Trek fans you may come across, the Vulcan sentiment of ?Live Long and Prosper? is one that I recommend the Over 50s? should adopt.

Our conversations with one another often focus on the negative things in our lives. What benefit is there really at bemoaning advancing age? Embrace those advancing years, enjoy the experience and skills you have and make this a time for adventure and excitement.

It is a time when your family responsibilities are likely to be reduced with kids grown up and parents still active. This is the best possible time to reflect on those things you still want to accomplish in life and set up a plan to achieve them.

If you can open your mind and heart to the world around you, and wait for the inspiration to come, you will find ways of exploring, experiencing and achieving those things you wish for.

I have found the best way to motivate myself to explore this area of my life is with a positive affirmation and I will share my current affirmation with you.

?I will think, eat, work & exercise to live a strong, interesting, healthy life which contributes to the world around me.?

Develop your own affirmation which reflects your view of what will be a healthy and exciting life style for your next years. Affirmations are just that: you affirm the sentiment by repeating it at least a couple of times a day and reflecting on what it means to you. This will allow your mind to explore new areas and maybe come up with some surprising results.

Explore retirement?s infinite possibilities and avoid the negative people

By leaving your mind open and free to explore all the options available to you, I am sure you will develop a plan to keep yourself vibrant and energetic.

You may find that you are not so happy in the company of the negative or dismal Over 50?s who prefer to look down a tunnel of doom rather than up through a valley of light. You can try to influence them to take up this positive journey. If they do not change, you may want to limit your contact with these negative people so they do not deter you from your chosen path.

Our choices will all be different. Look forward to the variety of experiences you will have and choose well the fellow travellers you will include in your adventure.
