New life is so very precious, but when someone opens their heart and home to the adoption of a new life, not borne of their own body, something of exquisite beauty takes place. It is likened to us being chosen by God before time to be His child. We are adopted in to the family of God. We have full rights of son-ship and inheritance under adoption.
The baby shower?Sunday was a celebration of our church for the adoption of Joseph David and the amazing story God is writing for this little boy and his new family. We are thanking the Lord as he accomplished all that was in His will to do. It is a mighty testimony of God?s power and might how He makes all things work for good to accomplish His will. Indeed, our hearts testify that there is nothing that the King of Kings cannot do!

I just wanted to share some of the joy with you in pictures. ?It was a perfect day, sunny and fair. The flowers were blooming and the birds singing in tune with our hearts.
Of course, there is always food, starting with beautiful and healthy desserts.

My dear friend Sheri is a gifted planner; she created the whole delicious menu with broasted Mandarin?chicken and?vinaigrette?on a bed of fresh greens, Michelle?s hand-made raw?chevre, and other delicious sides. We had a delightful time of putting together flower bouquets from our yards the day before.?All the ladies made specific parts of the royal feast so no one had too much to do.
While we wanted it to filled with beauty and signs of spring, our greatest desire was to bring glory to the Almighty Who has given eternal significance and meaning to this day. The gathering of family from distant places was a very important part, as well.

We all listened attentively to a short teaching from Psalm 78: 2-8 with an exhortation:
?I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will utter hidden things, things from of old?
?things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.
We will not hide them from their descendants;?
????we will tell the next generation?
the praiseworthy deeds?of the?Lord,
????his power, and the wonders?he has done?
?which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children,
so the next generation would know them,
????even the children yet to be born,?
????and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget?his deeds
but would keep his commands.
They would not be like their ancestors??
a stubborn?and rebellious?generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.?
The after-glow of the day?

??For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.? ~Psalm 117: 2
?
?He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,??having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will?? ? ~Ephesians 1: 4-5
**And please pray for Little Joe?s family as his father Jake left for Afghanistan for 4 months?the day after the shower. It is all part of this neat story.
